She did not have a choice,
To have her mother Loise,
She found herself in a home wreck,
A single mother and a moral wreck.
At 3, she was working like a teen,
All the house was hers to clean,
At 4, her mother beat her senseless,
The liquor she took made her merciless.
At 5, she started going to church,
Her mother knew nothing about church,
She called her bible the big black book,
At such a time, they had nothing to cook.
At 10, she was the highest scorer at school,
The only gift she received was at school,
Her mother knew nothing about report cards,
At her time, she was a perfect retard.
At 14, she sat for her government exam,
She wanted to be a lawyer and practice maxims,
The mother had no money for her high school,
The future had never felt so bull.
Luckily, the village chief got her a scholarship,
Her heart leapt to the clouds for the sponsorship,
She maintained her trend of excellent performance,
Her results slips gave As' in resonance.
She had vowed never to let her mother interfere,
This was until her mother got cancer,
She had to drop out of school alot more,
She had to labor for her mother's chemo.
Her mother survived the cancer,
But she was also nursing an ulcer,
She couldn't drink any longer,
It was then that her feelings got stronger.
Were it not for her daughter,
She could have been a latter,
